Sydney Desalination Plant
Sydney Desalination Plant was constructed as a result of one of the worst droughts in New South Wales in the last 100 years. Construction took 3 years and began in 2007. The plant’s desalinated water is pumped to a tank designated The Drinking Water Tank, from here it is sent to the Sydney Water Network.
As with any asset, the drinking water tank requires maintenance to ensure the long life required for such an important piece of infrastructure and as the operators of the plant Veolia Water Australia engaged Hurcs Pty Ltd
to provide aforementioned maintenance work. Hurcs Pty Ltd started by conducting an inspection to identify areas requiring remediation and progressed to repairing many
of the reservoirs panels and floor areas.
